Minnie Mouse and Disney Cruise Line celebrate Keel-laying for Disney Fantasy in Germany

On February 11, the keel was laid for the fourth ship to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet: the Disney Fantasy which will start sailing from Port Canaveral in April 2012. The vessel's capacity is around 4,000 passengers, in addition to the 1450 cast and crew members.
Minni Mouse visited the Meyer-Werft in Papenburg, Germany to assist Disney Cruise Line president Karl Holz place a lucky coin in the keel. Workmen have been busy for months, cutting sheets of steel and assembling blocks of the large vessel in order to meet the deadline. In less than a year, the cruiseliner is expected to be ready to commence its maiden voyage and to cross the Atlantic. Once in Port Canaveral, The Disney Fantasy will take passengers on 7-night cruises to the Caribbean. (Meyerwerft.de)
