Port of Galveston: Dense fog delays three cruise liners

On Saturday 19th February, the three cruise liners Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Conquest and Voyager of the Seas were severely delayed by fog affecting Port of Galveston traffic.
Winds dissipated the fog on Monday, however, the voyages of both Carnival Ecstasy and Carnival Conquest were shortened. The Ecstasy left the Port of Galveston about noon on Monday, two days later than scheduled and consequently did not call at the Port of Progresco, Vance Gulliksen. The Conquest left about 8.30am on Monday, one day behind schedule. Whereas passengers aboard the Ecstasy were offered a discounted rate, Conquest guests received no offer of compensation.
Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas was also delayed but it is unknown to what extent.
