Port Canaveral: Strong winds cause damage to Carnival Pride

Tuesday, April 05, 2011 | Port Canaveral
A wind gust of 85 knots caused damage to the Carnival Pride in Port Canaveral. The accident happened on April 2 in the late afternoon around 5.45pm. A strong gust tore the vessel from the dock, the captain then threw the anchor to prevent the ship from drifting. The ship then stayed overnight at Port Canaveral in order for repair work to be carried out. The Carnival Pride was on a 7-night cruise from Baltimore. The stop in Nassau that was planned for the next day had to be canceled. (Source: Cruisetricks.de)
